Water Water

Did you see Glen Beck Wednesday and Thursday?? Hmmm wonder where the “Boiling Frog” came from. I guess great minds think alike.

There are so many juicy stories in the news lately I find it hard to absorb them all. Between ACORN, the UN, NEA, Obamacare and all the Czars I think we ought to throw them all into a pot and boil them all.

What I want to talk about today is more of a local California issue that impacts the whole country if not the world. I listened to a local radio station last night and then re-listened tonight, to the pod cast of the Alan Autry show. http://www.1300kyno.com/kynomedia/AlanAutry-9242009.html. Alan, you might remember him as Buba, has threatened to jump the fence at the pumping station that sends water to the farmers on the west side of Fresno county. Right now I understand that the pumps are on but come January they go off again. Senator Jim Demint from South Carolina introduced a bill to the Senate and Dianne Feinstien nixed it before it had a chance to be voted on. An environmental law protecting the Delta Smelt is the problem. I love to fish almost as much as anyone. Hey fish are important. BUT… The Striped Bass that live in the canals and sloughs on the west side are in danger of dying too if they run out of water that is being fed south out of the delta. The water that hasn’t dried up yet is turning brackish and soon all you will be able to catch out there on the west side will be Carp, Craw fish and frogs.

As of last week the unemployment rate for Mendota California was 36%. The rate was higher but some of the people have moved out to find employment in other cities.

George Radonovich was on the radio show with Damint and Autry and has said he would jump the fence with Autry, or did he say he would be there when Autry jumped the fence; Hmmm. Alan Autry did call this a “grass roots rebellion”.
